I bounced over to YouTube and checked out the video. There are a lot of comments there from people who are defending the actions of the cops. What they say is that the elderly black lady had a knife and refused to drop it.

To which I thought, whether she did or not is not relevant. It was obvious just from the frail way she was wobbling around on her cane like Yoda that, even if she did have a knife, she was not physically strong enough to be a threat to anyone except maybe herself.

But, who knows, maybe the big, bad, cops thought the force be with her.

Even more relevant than her apparent physical condition was the fact that this was a crowded parking lot, with all sorts of brown and black people walking near her, yet no one --- except the cowardly Smiths -- showed any sign of being intimidated or threathened by the old lady.

Which is a compelling argument suggesting that the woman was not brandishing a knife -- at least, not until after the wide-assed Roseanne-Barr-shaped dike-cop-queen slammed her into the ground. And, if that was the case, the old lady was merely acting in self-defense. Which, according to the US Bill Of Rights [but not our godless Criminal Injustice System], would be perfectly legal.

They could have easily killed a woman as old as that just from slamming her head against the ground that way. Not to mention risking having her drop dead of a heart attack.

But, the cops don't give a damn about that sort of thing. Once they are been programmed, via their radio dispatcher, who the enemy is supposed to be, they are well-trained to act, not with intellect, and certainly not with compassion or respect, but with intimidation and brute force.

The cops are NOT the good guys and it is disturbing that so many coppertops do not yet understand that, tomorrow, it could just as easily be you or your mama lying in a pool of blood at the cop's feet.
